the baby-sitters club

today was the first day back to babysitting, my little 10 year old friend, hailey. it had been a while because she went to camp, so of course, she had lots to tell me about all of her adventures. we didn't know what we were going to do today, but we wanted to be outside. we ventured to carl cowan park and had a little picnic with good ole subway that ended with a photo shoot by the lake. what could be better? hailey is one of the funniest people i know. she is sassy and tells you like it is...half the time she doesn't even know what she is saying. a lot of times, i think she is the one babysitting me. she is a 30 year old trapped in a 10 year old's body. it was a beautiful and fun-filled day today, and before it was over we topped it off in the perfect way possible...with an icee!. to the blue ridge mountains, over near tennessee.

my mom and i set off, on an adventure, to one of her favorite places...blowing rock, north carolina. it was my first time there, and it was beautiful! just a quaint little town full of charming things: stone buildings, white, picket fences, and brick sidewalks. the buildings are full of character and so lovely. after wandering the streets of downtown blowing rock, we went to moses cone's house which is now a souvenir/craft shop. it has unique jewelry, glass, and national park items. after our last stop, we got in the car and headed for the blue ridge parkway. we didn't get to ride much of it but just enough to see the gorgeous mountain views. it was a fun, little day spent with my mama.

this is my new friend...it said her name was jessie.

all those pretty lights.

usually when i am in nashville i go to a concert, roam the streets filled with shops, and wish it was my home...which it will be one day! but this time, my friend jenn and i visited a friend who is living there for the summer. we explored the parts we have never seen before and shared many many laughs! we saw the beautiful skyline of nashville all lit up, tried new, delicious restaurants...burger up,(if you are ever in nashville GO THERE!) pied piper ice cream,(so many different flavors)and zoe's kitchen(fresh food at its finest). the last night we were there we decided to be 'nashville tourists'. so we put on our dancing shoes and went square dancing! our friend jessie joined in for the fun night ahead. walking down broadway you pass bar after bar with live music spilling out onto the streets, cowboy boot stores, and little souvenir shops filled with country memorabilia. in the heart of downtown is where we ended up in a little place called wildhorse saloon. it was so fun to be complete tourists in music city and see why it really is the music capitol. it was sad to see this adventure come to an end, but i know there will be many more.
