the weekend.

this weekend was one for the books and one for lack of sleep.
the weekend started with a dance party and ended with a nap.
dance party for a friend's birthday. 25 college girls. 7 college boys.
j. crew warehouse sale...in the bitter cold. got some good deals...a 4 dollar a bathing suit. holler!
a triple grilled cheese with pesto. yummy!
tim keller.
and a good ole nap before the oscars.
a fun weekend with some pretty special friends. we laughed, we didn't sleep, and we ate good food.

here are some pics from the j. crew sale. waiting in line. we were cold so hannah and kirsten tried to build a fire :)

the civil wars.

the civil wars about to blow up...but in a good way! i remember seeing them in knoxville for the first time about 2 years ago and there was hardly anyone there. they were a little baby band, but they still sang their little hearts out. this past tuesday, they sang to a packed house at the pilot light! i love them together. their chemistry, their laughter, and their joyful, fun spirits. it was my third time seeing them and probably the best out of the three! so excited to see them grow and more people learn how amazing they are.
here is a new song they played. called 'oh henry'.

just bein' little food critics.

this past weekend i babysat my two little friends, elie and georgie. we played the game 'food critic'. they blind folded each other, and then they got mystery items from the pantry and fridge. it was really funny and cute how much they were into it! after they tasted the nuts, cheese, bacon, and peanut butter fudge they would guess what they ate and then rate it. needless to say, it entertained us for quite some time. maybe i should i be a food critic. i do love me some food!

adventures in d.c.

this past weekend my friends took an adventure to washington dc on the megabus. we were a little skeptical at first, but it was AWESOME! we (tried to) slept through the night and woke up to the sun rising over our nation's capitol. it was beautiful. since we got there at 8 we had an early start to our day. and it turns out we probably walked a half marathon. we got lost multiple times and took round-about-ways to everywhere we wanted to go. needless to say, we were very sore the next morning. on our last day we decided to get georgetown cupcakes for breakfast (very good decision)! we also decided to rest our tired legs and take cabs everywhere. also a very wise decision. as our weekend adventure came to a close, we decided to walk to the bus since we would be sitting down for 9 hours straight. we got lost and got a cab and made it just in time. i was getting a little nervous. we all still think it was a dream! all in all, it was a successful weekend, full of laughter, friends, and new memories. goin' down in the books for sure! until next time!

twenty-one.

my twenty-first birthday was so fun! i had a piece of funfetti cake for breakfast...which means it will always be a good day. the only bad part about it was i had a test that morning! boo. later that night i went to one of my favorite restaurants, downtown grill and brewery, with my mom! we ate lots of food and even got to have my first legal drink...a tuscan margarita. (so yummy!) then some pretty special people came over for a bit to celebrate! although i am happy i turned 21, i still sometimes get that peter pan feeling...never wanting to grow up! but i have a feeling that this year is going to be a good year!
p.s. my closest friends and i are going to go to washington d.c. this weekend to celebrate! we are riding the megabus (which in its self will be an adventure)! i am so excited to go on this little adventure this weekend! maybe we will get to hang out with the president!

america's rising stars.

she was recreating a picture of lionel richie on the wall.

this weekend, a group of my friends went to big mama's karaoke cafe. yes, very creative name! not a lot of people were there, so we got to own that stage. my roommate, logan, and i sang 'since u've been gone' by kelly clarkson. *sidenote- kelly came in town last year. so logan and i decided we were going to try and buy tickets at the concert. no big deal if they were sold out. we got 5th row seats for 25 dollars! we aren't big fans or anything...just thought it would be funny to go to one of her shows. and it was so fun! but back to karaoke, we were with some good ole country bumpkins. the night was full of future stars!
