fort building 101.

let's go build a fort! that's the idea my roomie and i had last friday. we decided it was a fort buildin', movie watchin', pajama wearin', candy eatin' kind of night. she brought her mattress into our downstairs living room (with only a little bit of struggle), we hung up sheets, made it cozy, pulled out chairs, brought mops into the picture...the perfect kind of fort if you ask me! i do have a confession. we became twihards this week. we have been bitten. we did watch all of the twilight movies in one night. some may think that is wrong, but if that's the case...i don't want to be right! the good news is, is that fort will be up for a while!! so here's to being 13 again because i still built forts then. didn't you? holler for fort building!

day trip.

some friends and i ventured in the cold and rain last friday for a day trip to chattanooga. it was full of rain, jokes, good music, good food, pictures, and friends. we listened to fun music that got us pumped up for the ben rector/needtobreathe concert later that night! we ate lunch at the yellow deli...which turns out is run by a cult. (didn't know that before hand) it was like you walked into the shire. they did have really good food though! at least they got that going for them. we sat in a panera, drinking our coffee and my dr pepper to get an extra boost in our step and just talking about life. it really felt like we were somewhere else like maybe...london, which is silly, and not chattanooga. maybe it was because we went to a pub for dinner. who knows? the concert was great! the crowd was so rowdy and so tall. had a little bit of trouble seeing everybody up on that stage. but they sounded great! it was a great way to start off a ridiculously funny weekend.

halloween came early this year.

last night was our halloween club at young life! it was so fun to see the kids dress up and have such a fun night. we sang songs, played games with oreos, laughed a lot, gave away prizes to the best costume. we even had some super heroes in our midst! it was a great night for an early celebration of halloween!!

p.s. i was the rock in rock, paper, scissors...if you couldn't tell.

mouse in the house.

there is a mouse in my house, and i'm not talking about mickey mouse. i wish he was visiting. there is a little mouse. well i hope just one! our landlord put rat poison out and told me to let nature take its course...really?! don't even want to think about that! even though i'm picturing this sweet little mouse. he is not welcome in this house!!

i thought it was fall...

i thought wrong. i thought it was fall. it isn't. it is cold and rainy. when it is cold and rainy all i want to do is sit on the couch curled up with a blanket and watch tv. good thing i didn't have anything to do today because that's what i did with my dear friend/roomie, becca! except we added a little grilled cheese tomato soup action mixed with some thrifting with a little pretty little liars marathon on the side. even though i wish it wasn't so cold and rainy, it really was just the kind of day i needed! so here is to more lazy, not so rainy days!!

weekend!

this weekend was everything i wanted it to be! it was full of yummy food, laughter, harry potter wands used for drum sticks, orange, bon fires and perfect fall weather. my friend chelcie and i were together for most of the weekend...and i loved it! we didn't worry about a thing. friday we embarked all the way to maryville to eat a fine establishment...amburn's humdinger. my dad introduced it to my family, so i love going there! it has been my favorite place for a long time! i used to go there on my birthday dinners. if you want a good burger and milkshake go to humdinger! on saturday, i decided i would be a vol fan! my friends and i got front row seats...how we got them is not important! but it was so fun even though we couldn't really see much. we tried to get on tv and i'm pretty sure we were on the jumbo tron for .1 seconds. it was worth it! we topped off that day with a bonfire! here's to 2 weeks where i don't have to do anything in school!!! can i get a hoohah?!?

this and that.

these past few weeks have been CRAZY. and that's an understatement! i have been bombarded with studying and school-three tests and a paper in one week. i mean i know i'm in college...but really? wasn't expecting this much studying, and it's my senior year. give me a break! well the weeks of hell are over! thank goodness. i can finally sit, sleep, be present with friends, and watch my beloved tv shows. (i know that's sad, but they bring me joy).

last friday, my friends had two extra tickets to the avett brothers concert at the smokies stadium! holler...did i mention they were free?! double whammy-free music and friends! well my roommate, becca, and i tagged along for all the flannel glory! *sidenote-i'm pretty sure i will get lung cancer from inhaling so much smoke...many different kinds of smoke. i have never seen them live but they are hyped up and put on a show! it was great to be with friends and do one of my all time favorite things...go to a concert. after the concert we were hungry (don't know if this is because of all the different smoke we inhaled) so we had a midnight snack a mcdonalds. so good! it was a great time in the middle of my crazy life!
